History
The School is the product of a specific call from God upon its Founder and present Director, Rev. Alex Tana. God impressed upon him how in these days of the latter rain there is a tremendous need for all Christians to be clothed with the full armour of God and be ready to stand in the front line against any attack of the enemy.

Further more God reminded him that when He gave the Great Commission to the early disciples He told them to go and make disciples, not just believers. In other words, Jesus expected them to turn believers into disciples and thus enable every convert to continue their work. Jesus is still now looking for people like those early disciples. People who are trained by the Word of God, filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered with the ministry gifts that Jesus has released upon us.

Aims
How many of us are missing out on all the benefits contained in the promises of God? God said that we are destroyed by the lack of knowledge of His Word. You can change all that as you enrol in this exciting new adventure.

The School exists to equip men and women with the Word of God and train them for the calling that God has placed on their life. At Rivers of Joy Bible School we want to make sure that every one who has been called by God is also ready and equipped for their calling. The urgency of the times we live in and the ferocious attacks of the enemy underline the need for skilled labourers who are ready, equipped and prepared to gather the huge harvest that God is bringing into His Kingdom.

Organisation
The School offers a variety of different correspondence courses with each study course tailored to the requirements of the individual student. That means that you can start at any time you want, study in the comfort of your own home and at the pace you want. Each subject will include one or two papers which will be assessed by a team of experienced teachers, pastors and leaders who will offer you helpful comments so that you can get a better grasp of every subject matter.

We believe that studying the Word of God and being prepared for the ministry is a duty for any faithful Christian. Therefore, all titles awarded by the School are legal titles in that they represent the successful completion of a prescribed course of studies. We do not see any need of seeking recognition and or accreditation from any other authority, as we believe that the only valid authority is God himself. Throughout the course prayer and counselling support will be given to you our students to ensure that you are covered by God's blessing and protection. We would certainly be available should you have any specific prayer and/or counselling need.

Courses
All courses offered at the moment are one year courses leading to a Certificate or two year courses leading to a Diploma. You can take twice the time to complete your course; an extension is possible but an extra fee will be payable.

Courses currently available:
· Certificate/Diploma in Biblical Studies An in-depth study of the Bible, the doctrines and the principles of Christianity to train you and equip you in the Word of God and Christianity.
· Certificate/Diploma in Ministry A thorough preparation to equip you and prepare you for the many for the challenges of your ministerial role in accordance with your specific calling.


Fees
· Registration: £ 20.00 (non refundable)
· Tuition and assessment: £ 540.00 per year
· Final assessment and graduation: £ 35.00
· Extra year: £ 150.00

50% of the tuition fees are payable upon acceptance of the student by the School; the remainder within the first three months of the course starting date. Monthly instalment options are available but an administration charge of £36.00 a year will be added to your account.

Acceptance in the school
Any student willing to register must be a born again believer at least 18 years old. He/she should complete a registration form and attach payment for the registration fee. The school will then prayerfully decide whether you are eligible or not on the basis of the information provided and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Statement of faith
Rivers of Joy Bible School shares the same Faith Statement of the ministry of which it is an integral part. In particular we believe in the Bible as the inspired Word of God, in salvation by faith through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and in the future return of Jesus as King. We also believe that God works powerfully in and through the church today by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the present work of the Holy Spirit by means of signs, miracles and wonders.

Rev. Alex Tana is the Founder and present Director of the School. He has an extensive international training and teaching experience gained over a period of many years both in a business as well as in a spiritual environment. He is a dynamic and anointed Bible teacher who loves to bring alive the Word of God and make it relevant to today. In addition, he is a powerful preacher moving under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and often ministering in signs and wonders.

Rev. Tana, together with his wife Christina, is the Founder and current General Overseer of Rivers of Joy Ministries, a fast growing international ministry operating in many countries through evangelism, church planting, ministering, training, and publications. Plans are ahead for future involvement in radio/tv ministry and a Christian School of performing arts. The Ministry is also very much involved in support work to people in need.
